About the Project
The mission of the Declaration Resources Project is to create innovative scholarly resources to support teaching and learning about, and ongoing engagement with, the Declaration of Independence. Our goal is to encourage and equip individuals to engage with the text and context of the Declaration in new ways.
The committees tasked with drafting the #DeclarationofIndependence and Articles of Confederation were appointed on June 11-12, 1776. But, while the Declaration was approved on #July4th, the Articles of Confederation weren’t sent to the states for ratification until November 1777. t.co/zqqsTJqYiS
"Henceforth, the #DeclarationofIndependence is sacred to History - part of the mighty Past. The last of the Signers is dead." Obituary for Charles Carroll of Carrollton in Poulson's American Daily Advertiser. Carroll died #onthisday in 1832, six years after Jefferson and Adams. t.co/0xU9Nwg1Cr
